The same thing happens when spills are cleaned with a detergent solution and the area is not rinsed enough with plain water. Before and During Installation

• Make sure you know who is removing your existing flooring. The installer can do it. If not, you should make arrangements to have it removed. Minimize dust by vacuuming your old carpet before it’s removed, and after it's up, vacuum the floor.
• Moving the furniture. Decide in advance if you want to remove the furniture or if you want the installer to handle it. Either way, remove all fragile items and do not leave anything such as drapery or plants hanging over the installation area.
• Measure door clearances before installation. If the new floor is thicker than your existing floor, door bottoms may rub.
• Paint first. If you’re planning to paint or wallpaper, it’s best to do it before your carpet is installed.
